APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN

So you want to join our game? That's great! Make sure you've read over the premise, FAQ, and rules, before submitting your application to warforged.apps@gmail.com. Please put your character's name and canon in the subject header, and if it's reserved, like so: [RESERVED] Thrall - World of Warcraft. Once you receive your acceptance email, you will be given two flight colors to choose from based on the full content of your application. Just a reminder, this is a strictly OOC decision that characters will have no say over as the flight chooses them based on personality attributes and past deeds.

You can find a copy of the application here or you can copy what is written below.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND US RAW CODE OR A LINK TO YOUR APPLICATION.

APPLICATION
NAME: Your name or preferred alias to go by.
CONTACT: An email is required (preferably the one you send the application from), but things like AIM, Plurk, and Skype are optional.
PERSONAL JOURNAL: Optional, please put N/A if you don't have one.
OTHER CHARACTERS: If any, please specify who, otherwise put N/A.
CHARACTER NAME: In Western order. Feel free to list any known aliases, but the first name should be the one that will be placed on the taken list.
CHARACTER SERIES: Your character's canon. If it's an original character, please just put 'Original'
SPECIES: Please state your character's species. If it's something not self-explanatory, please specify. For example, Fire Emblem's Manakete would be explained as a dragon that can shapeshift into a humanoid form depending on their dragonstone.
AGE: How old is your character? If you don't know, please state a rough age. If your character appears different from their true age, be sure to mention that as well.
CANON POINT: From what point in their history is your character taken?
CLASS/ABILITIES: Please list any skills or abilities your character has if you plan to keep them. It's okay to be thorough! Please note that they will not have fine control of all powers upon waking, as they will have been reworked into the Warcraft class system. As well, if your character does not already have a superpowered skill set, feel free to choose a class for them and give a brief explanation of your decision.
HISTORY: If you would like to link a wiki or other source of information for this, that is fine. However, we would like a brief (at least two paragraph) summary detailing your character's events in their canon. IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR A CHARACTER THAT IS BEING IMPORTED FROM ANOTHER DREAMWIDTH GAME this is where you must elaborate on that. Note where they came from, and any major events they had their hands in.
PERSONALITY: For this section, we require at least three sizable paragraphs on your character's personality though we would prefer more. What makes them tick, what motivates them, how they respond to others, things like that! The more you elaborate, the better! IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR A CHARACTER THAT IS BEING IMPORTED FROM ANOTHER DREAMWIDTH GAME you must detail on any changes in personality as a result from their participation in the game.
FIRST PERSON SAMPLE: A first person sample either linked or written with the character addressing either through the scrying orbs. For this sample, it's emphasized that your character's voice is strong and accurate to the application. If you link a sample that has special circumstances (memory loss, event effects), please state that.
THIRD PERSON SAMPLE: Please choose one of the following in-game scenarios and write a reaction or scene involving the character you are applying for. There is no word requirement, but please keep in mind that this is arguably the most important section of your application. We will be using this to assist in flight placement. While we will accept "character essays" in which you detail out your characters thoughts and reactions to a given scene, we very much prefer in-character sampling.

A. The Frienemy Your character has been called to defend their territory from invaders originating from one of the other flights. In the midst of battle, you spot a old friend on the battlefield...except they're flying the wrong colors. They appear to hurt, though its impossible at a distance to tell how badly. There's a very great chance that trying to help them will result in one or both of your deaths from your respective allies or enemies.

B. The Orphan You're out on a scouting mission for your flight and come across an odd sight. Slain on the ground is a lone dragonkin from one of your opposing flights. You notice that it appears to be carrying something and, upon further inspection, it appears to be an egg. The egg does not match the dragonkin's scale color, nor does it appear to be from the den of your flights. It appears to be rattling -- it will hatch soon and send out the alarm to nearby flights with its cries for food and shelter. You cannot be certain that bringing it back to your sanctum will gain you favor. There are other dragons nearby, and you cannot be sure that one of them didn't see you approach the egg and it is possible that you will be blamed for its birth.

C. The Assassin You are milling about in the safety of your sanctum when you stumble upon the corpse of a dragon, hidden carefully behind one of the nearby formations. Upon further inspection, you notice some shed scales near the corpse -- since they match your brethren's color, you think nothing of it. Just as you are about to stand, you find a knife at your throat and notice that its owner is one of your fellow Dragonsworn and that the knife is coated freshly in thick dragonblood. "Keep quiet and let me take care of it," they say. Other than the blood, you have no immediate way of proving that this person is killing your allies, your benefactors and your protectors. There is a possibility that this assailant has just come from killing the murderer, but the assassin does not appear very keen on talking to you. It is possible to defeat him in combat, but there is an even greater chance that they will kill you if you can't attract attention fast enough.

D. The Diplomat Your flight is currently suffering a resource deficit thanks to a recent attack from your neighbors. A settlement of Night Elves to the north has shown disdain for the dragonflights recently due to the destruction of their forests, though they have yet to be outwardly hostile toward any one flight. There is a possibility they can be reasoned with...if you are equipped with the right tools. While the Night Elves do not trust the dragonflights, they trust the Dragonsworn even less. Your leaders believe that if Night Elves experience contact with a benevolent Dragonsworn, they will be more likely to assist in your plight.

E. The Provisionary Spring has sprung and the surrounding wildlife is in full bloom. You have been charged to assist in gathering extra food, both for the hatchlings and your fellow Dragonsworn. The larger dragons are capable of hunting themselves, but bringing back a large sum of meat would surely bring you great favor if you are able to transport it back. There berries and other edible plant life scattered about -- your flight has told you what to pick and what not to pick. The most prominent prey appears to be deer, though there are plenty of rabbits and squirrels to choose from as well. Be warned, Dragonsworn, as you will need to avoid the Burning Legion's scouts that scour the forest. Attacking them on your own would be unwise.
