SETTING

Kalimdor, known as the "Land of Eternal Starlight" in the language of the Titans, is the singular landmass on Azeroth and is dominated by a diverse number of species. The four dominant and native species to the land are the night elves, the trolls, the aqir and the dragons. Dragon territory exists in scattered areas across Kalimdor, but is centrally located in their hidden sanctums that can only be reached by Dragonsworn and the dragons themselves. The trolls are divided between two empires -- the Gurubashi and the Amani. The Aqir dominate the northern and southern parts of the continent.

Zin-Ashari
Also known as "The Glory of Azshara", this elven town is currently the Night Elven capitol of Kalimdor, where Azshara herself reigns over her fellows. The Well of Eternity sits at the foot of Azshara's palace and shares a border with the city of Suramar. The town is heavily fortified by large walls and several magical barriers -- without skilled mages, it is nearly impossible to penetrate. It is in Zin-Ashari that Night Elves experiment with the Well, and it is the Well where demons pour forth into the continent.
The City now holds only Highborne and Demons, and about half of it sits as smoldering ruins. The farther away you walk from Azshara's palace, the more desolated Zin-Ashari appears to be. There is no wildlife to speak of in the area, and it smells of raw flesh and stale fel fire.

SURAMAR
Once a glorious Night Elven city, Suramar has been decimated by the demonic invasion. Some of its garish decorations remain, most notably the tattered banners and cloth singed by fel flame. Many of the buildings now lie in ruin, and the Dragons of many flights struggle to contain the aggressive Legion advances from pouring into the forest. With Deathwing's recent betrayal against Azeroth herself, the town is nearly deserted. Great scars can be seen in the rock and soil, almost as if a powerful beam of fire had struck the center lines of both armies.
Suramar, once a testament to the Night Elves' artistry and power, is now nothing but a haunted city and a monument to their rapid decent.

SIN'THALAS
Sin'thalas (translated to "Blood Kingdom" in Darnassian) sits in Night Elven territory between the tenuous borders of the Amani and Gurubashi troll tribes. As such, Sin'thalas lives up to its name and houses a population of elven warriors. They do not trust outsiders and recent highborne activity in Zin-Ashari has caused them to be distrustful of even their own kind. Sin'thalas houses an incredible garrison to hold up against a variety of creatures, and should not be taken lightly.

DERENAAR
Located the south, Derenaar was best known for its lush overgrowth and its entertainment district. Now, however, with the sewing chaos that is the burning legion, the Gurubashi trolls from the jungles below have begun to take advantage and have pushed very near lively Derenaar's boundaries. Military presence is low here, and the Night Elven village is far out of the way from the rest of civilization. The villagers are friendly and the town is full of life.
Most citizens of Derenaar have never seen a dragon before in their lives, but are very familiar with their neighboring enemies and the new demons that threaten their way of life.

SILVERGLEN RETREAT
Silverglen Retreat was erected shortly after the destruction of Suramar far to the south in hopes of keeping families safe from the invading demons, as well as other enemies who would do them harm. The village is simple and earthy, though well hidden from the outside by various enchantments and overgrowth. Thanks to recent negotiations with the Green and Red Dragonflights, Dragonkind is now accepted into this community, so long as they walk as mortals. There are always dragonkin patrolling the area disguised as mortals to ensure no trouble is started with the natives. Beyond the vigilant guards, the military presence here is almost non-existent.

THE AMANI EMPIRE
The Amani Empire holds its base of operations in the forests of the north, split into two pieces on opposite sides of Kalimdor. The Amani trolls are referred to as forest trolls for this reason, and can be found in crude huts woven together with animal bones and leather. The first clue that you have wandered into troll territory will be the sheer amount of skulls covering its perimeter, no doubt followed by angry shouts in Zandali, the ancient language of the Twin Empires. The Amani forests are littered with bears, crocodiles, frogs and large spiders (roughly the size of a large dog).

THE GURUBASHI EMPIRE
The Gurubashi Empire stands in the south, in the jungles of Kalimdor. The native trolls here are known as jungle trolls and specialize in the usage of poisons. Like their cousins, the Gurubashi trolls can occasionally be found in woven huts of animal bones and leathers, but much prefer the sturdy and stone structures of their temples. Their territory is littered with venomous snakes, tigers, and panthers.

AZJOL-NERUB
Azjol-Nerub is known better as "The Spider Kingdom" and exists in a vast underground network of tunnels. This giant haven is deadly to any single adventurer who happens to wander into it. Highly intelligent, Nerubians have errected vast webbed arcitecture as a monument to abyssal gods and worship in unholy presence. It is difficult to simply stumble into Azjol-Nerub simply due to the very wrongness in the air surrounding it.
The kingdom itself is draped in purples, blues, and greens. Several species of mushrooms can be found scattered around its halls. It houses the entirety of Azeroth's population of Nerubians, and as a result is a literal warrior kingdom. Several sources of water run deep through its tunnels, making it a highly desirable resource to anyone stuck in the frozen north. Its entrances are often guarded and its tunnel walls are often coated in snow and ice.

AHN'QIRAJ
Like its sister kingdom of Azjol-Nerub, Ahn'Qiraj exists entirely underground. Unlike their quiet and sinister cousins, the Qiraji's kingdom is covered by a large and brightly colored palace-like structure. A character from earth may note its Egyptian-like structure. Inside the halls of Ahn'Qiraj, you will find statues that come to life, and dark whispers that permeate the very atmosphere.
The forest gives away to a dusty red landscape that makes up the majority of Ahn'Qiraj. Insects are always swarming around it, such that a constant buzzing noise is almost always present on the wind. Sandstorms are common, and will often cover up pitfalls that lead deeper into the kingdom. Be wary, traveller -- it is rare that anyone ventures back from Ahn'Qiraj with their sanity and limbs intact.
