general and player expectations
Respect other players
Communication is built on respect and understanding, and good fun and plot are built on communication. Respect your fellow player and your mods. If you are not sure about something, the best thing to do is ask! Refrain from hateful language and activity with fellow players. Nobody has to be best friends, but everyone must respect one another. If a player is feeling alienated or disrespect by one or a group of players, feel free to submit a complaint. After review, if mods rule in favor, a behavioral strike will be given to the offending parties. Please see the warning system rule below for more information on that.

Character limit
Currently, all players are allowed a maximum of three characters initially and are only allowed to app one character per application period though they can reserve up to two. With proof of good activity, additional character slots can be unlocked. Currently, there's no limitations on how many characters a single player can play from a canon, and each application will be handled on a case by case basis. Sometimes there will be a cast cap in place if the moderators feel as if there's enough characters from a single franchise that can dominate the game. If a cap is in place, it'll be stated as such on the reserves page. These caps are universal so for example if there's a cap on a canon, it will include all of their spin offs with no question.

Activity requirements and restrictions
Current activity requirements require a total of 15 comments from the player's character in the span of one month. This may be submitted in increments with a minimum of 5 comments per thread. Activity rules are subject to change based on the game's pacing as a whole. Activity was changed to accommodate the slower pace of the game in April 2014.
Hiatuses that take up to two weeks or longer will exempt a player from having to submit to an activity check. Players aren't allowed to take more than a single exemption hiatus in a two month period meaning they will have to pass an activity check before they can be cleared for another hiatus.
Players are allowed to submit double activity for all of their characters to unlock an additional character slot for the upcoming application period. This slot can't be held for a future application period and will be reset if players fail to submit anything pending special circumstance.
These restrictions are in place because above all else,
warforged is a plot driven game and in order to keep the action going, players must be active. If there are issues keeping you from making activity consistently, please speak to one of the mods. The sooner, the better.

Age requirement
Due to the violent content that may be found in this game, all players are asked to be fourteen years of age or older. All NSFW content that's sexual or explicit in violence should not only be locked to the community, but mentioned in the original post.

Warning system
Warforged operates on a three strike system for behavior, and a two strike system for activity. Mods track this info privately and will speak to players when concern arises. Mods require formal complaints to be lodged about concerning player behavior in the form of private messages, plurk, or emails. These must be submitted through MOD CHANNELS ONLY (ie: mod plurk, mod email, mod dreamwidth account). Personal mod complaints will be handled separately on an individual basis. If you are having trouble communicating with any single moderator, then please feel free to use a different moderator's inbox, located here.

character expectations
Stay in-character
Players are expected to have their characters remain as true to their original personality as depicted. Sometimes there are events and things that will happen over the course of a game in order to change a character. It's up to the players who are approached with questions as to why their character's behavior is different to provide good reasoning for doing so. If you believe a fellow player is not staying true to their character, mods first require that concrit be submitted to the player before accepting formal complaints for review. If review is complete and the mods rule in favor, a behavioral strike will be issued.

God-modding/info-modding
ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY. As Warforged is based on the spirit of faction fighting, mods will not tolerate any sort of info or god modding from player to player. Communication is highly valued here, and it is also highly recommended that you do not simply assume in character knowledge without first speaking to someone about it. Neither mod nor player is here to fight about power or intelligence levels. We really want to stress this. If you are applying to Warforged with the intent of overpowering other characters in the game in some fashion, then this is not the game for you. As with other complaints, any god/info-modding complaints should be immediately submitted through MOD CHANNELS ONLY. Violation of this rule will result in a behavioral strike.

Canon puncturing/fourth-walling
Generally, canon puncturing and fourth-walling is not allowed. There are some characters who may be an exception to this, but players are asked to establish this in their permission post. As a general rule, we ask that both of these instances be avoided unless given permission by ALL effected parties.
Characters who may have played 'World of Warcraft' or have knowledge of the franchise won't remember the proper terms. Players are expected to come up with substitutes in their place with events differing from what's currently taking place. Violation of this rule will result in a behavioral strike.

posting and interacting
NSFW content/trigger warnings
All posts that include violent or explicit content must be locked to the assigned community and warned for appropriately. While sexual content is allowed, it won't be accepted as proper activity for the month unless the thread has suitable content before or after. This isn't a sex game and activity will not be gauged on it as a result.
Players that spring unwarranted explicit content on other players will result in a behavioral strike.

ICA/ICC/OOC
Seeing as this is a war game with different factions, there will be times where a character's actions will have consequences. Burning an entire village to the ground can't be ignored by their peers as well as the creatures who miss their village. As a result, players who try to circumvent the aftermath of their actions repetitively without good reason will receive a behavioral strike. Severe and repeated offenses may result in ejection from the game.

NPCs
Sometimes a single NPC may be played by multiple mods over time. While we're planning to do our best to keep up with previous threads, if you feel something isn't adding up with a thread, please contact the mods here with your concerns so that we can fix it. While rare, it's likely unintentional and will be sorted out quickly as one of our highest priorities.
