PREMISE AND GAMEPLAY
INTRODUCTION
You've awoken to a world thrown in chaos. Not just any world -- your home, suddenly aflame with green fire and the stench of a demonic magic that may or may not be foreign to you. Hellish creatures pour from the skies, the ground, from seemingly thin air with no visible end. And then, just like that, you're ripped away.
It happens suddenly, inexplicably, while you are reeling from being yanked through a temporal tunnel. When you open your eyes, there is only a gray fuzzy darkness. A single light floats before you: a small orb, currently held by a cloaked man who appears to be flanked by four other cloaked figures, two on each side of him. Your limbs are heavy, too heavy to move. All you can do is stare at his hands, like claws, grasping the one source of light in this hell.
"Listen, and listen well." His voice has a curiously neutral accent. It's hard to place where he's from. As he speaks, images flicker and disappear within the orb. The first one shows several mighty dragons of different colors bickering over a perfect golden disc. "You are crucial to the survival of this world, this Azeroth. You must help the dragonflights by choosing a master, or you—all of us—will perish. This timeline is essential to the continued flow of several more timelines—including yours." The dragons disappear, replaced by a vision of horrific demons razing a green, gorgeous land.
"I am deeply sorry that you must be involved. It was not our choice. There are powers at play greater than you nor I could imagine. None of us can return to our lives until this conflict is over." The orb glows brightly. Something inside you begins to change. It may be small, or it may be something bigger, but it leaves you feeling like you touched a warm plate. "There. I have unlocked your potential. Regrettably, we do not have time to teach you how to control it."
All of the figures in the room turn their attention to the magic in the clawed hand before you. The orb turns a deep red and yellow, flickering like a city on fire. The light cast from it grows, eating at your leaden limbs but causing no pain. "You must go. Good luck, adventurer. We will meet again soon." The warmth from the cloaked man's blessing turns to sudden icy coldness as you are whisked away from the vacuum...
... and thrown into a dark cave entrance, where you are able to behold large dragons milling about ahead of you.
This is Azeroth. Will you accept her and her conflicts, or forsake her and this realm in a mad bid to save your own?

PREMISE
Welcome to Azeroth.
Warforged is a wartime game centered around pitting once-friends against each other, in addition to new enemies, all while trying to survive in a land that has known nothing but turmoil since its birth. You fight alongside one of the great Dragonflights native to this world, using the power lent to you in order to tip the scales in your favor.
Your character has been spirited through the tunnels of time and space to help with the disaster occurring on an alternate timeline of Azeroth, based on the Warcraft series. Events unfolded a little differently here during the first invasion of the Burning Legion, and betrayal is rampant amongst the draconic guardians of the world. The result is a lot of in-fighting between the five different draconic factions. A common goal unites them, but not by much -- certainly not enough to be civil toward one another. As they squabble amongst themselves in a futile effort to regain power stolen from them, the demons of the Burning Legion threaten to erase all sentient life, both in this world and others.
Your character will empower (and be empowered by) one of the five great Dragonflights. They are then given a choice: fight with their new allies and gain their favor, or trust their own power against the seemingly insurmountable horde of demons ravaging the world. It is clear that, without peace between the flights, the demonic hordes will overrun everyone and destroy Azeroth. But before that war can be fought, this war must be won. Right now, the dragons guarding this young world need your help to survive as much as you need theirs.
In addition to the abilities granted by their patron Flight, all incoming characters may be subject to a similar class system as seen in World of Warcraft, granting them powers in place of their abilities from their homeland. Please look at this page for further reading on classes in Warforged.
As the plot progresses, additional areas will be opened, either on wartime Azeroth or timeways to different eras that need adjustment. There are many powers all vying for control of this world, and many chances for them to interfere.

ARRIVAL/LIFE IN AZEROTH
As soon as your character has been sworn into a dragonflight, they will be granted shelter within their sanctums, where their eggs are kept. The entrances to these sanctums are accessed via random portal locations throughout Kalimdor, scattered to keep enemies out. Every character will be summoned into their respective sanctums after their brief introduction from the Dragon Mages. Existing in their own temporal zone, these sanctums are the only definitive hiding place from the demons rampaging outside. Your character's needs will be provided there: food, bed, and weapons.
Each sanctum is home to their respective flight, and it is not uncommon to find dragons simply slumbering out in the open...or to find them watching every move you make in plain sight.
GAMEPLAY
There is no network system in Warforged. Messaging is done through a scrying system, as well as primitive messaging techniques via paper and ink. As a result, the majority of gameplay will happen via face-to-face interaction. For more information on what scrying is and how it works, please see the FAQ.
Feel free to use the following template when making logs.
Warforged is based entirely on conflict and the rift between worlds. Every action made will earn you a friend... or an enemy. Choose your path wisely, or face destruction.
