FAQ

FAQ

GENERAL
   Q. Ok. What?
A. That was a lot of information, wasn't it? In sum, your character has been brought to a fantasy realm set in the Warcraft universe by dragons. There's a big fight going on between the five dragonflights and that's a big problem because they are supposed to be keeping the world in balance!

Our focus here is a war-time environment with highly active and engaging NPC leaders. We want you to feel like you're a part of the action at all times.
   Q. You said somethin about demons, what's that about?
A. Inconveniently, there is a huge demonic invasion occurring at the same time of this war. In fact, it's so huge that it's begun to spill out into other universes, including the one your character came from! The Burning Legion has one purpose: consume the universe. They are here to burn Azeroth to the ground. But the dragons can't help stop them until they work out their own problems!
   Q. Let's cut to the chase. I don't know anything about Warcraft. Is that ok?
A. Of course it is! All the information you need to know has been laid out for you already in various resource posts. Nothing more, nothing less! On the other hand, if you're just curious, our head mods have been playing the game for a very long time and we'll be happy to answer any extra world related questions you might have.
   Q. What's the time scale for this game?
A. Warforged runs in real time! One irl day = one in game day (1:1)
   Q. How do we post in this game? What are the different communities used for?
A. [community profile] warforged is used for face-to-face logs and interaction. Most of the game's posts will be in this community. [community profile] lookingformore is used for "network" communications and is locked for posting by characters except during special events. The "message board" post stickied at the top of the page may be used at any time. Please see the Scrying part of the FAQ for more information. [community profile] battlenet is used for out of character communication. [personal profile] modforged is the mod journal. [community profile] barrenschat is our spam comm for memes and other shenanigans. Any dragon-character journals ending in "forged" are mod-controlled NPCs.
APPLICATION
   Q. How many characters may a player have in total?
A. Currently, we encourage a limit of THREE characters. Warforged is meant to be plot-heavy and wartime, and so we would prefer player focus being kept on a small amount of characters.
   Q. I think I can handle more. Are you sure?
A. Players are welcome to apply for an additional character slot by submitting double activity for all current characters with their monthly activity check. You only need to submit one month's worth of double activity to unlock a new character slot.
   Q. What sort of characters can be applied for here?
A. We currently accept canon characters, original characters, and characters ported in from other dreamwidth games. We also accept both Warcraft canon and original characters. At this time, OCs from other fandoms (such as fantrolls from Homestuck) and all player AU characters are not able to be applied for. If it's an official canon AU, you are permitted to bring that character in. The Dragon Aspects and their consorts also may not be applied for.
   Q. What can I expect if I am applying for a game-ported character?
A. Characters ported in from other games will find that any powers they had from other games (such as Personas from [community profile] destinystrings) will not join them on Azeroth. However, you can use their previous powers to influence which class you decide to give them here in Warforged if you'd like! The exception to this rule is racial abilities (such as enhanced sight/sense of hearing/etc) -- characters will get to keep those upon arrival.

Additionally, the mods have a zero-tolerance policy for forcing pre-game CR on canon characters. All players who bring in a character ported from another game must have permission before assuming things about other characters in game. Please include a list of pre-game CR in your permissions post and communicate with any characters your ported character may know.
   Q. Can you explain these "classes" I keep hearing about?
A. When your character arrives here, any special powers they have will have been altered by the transfer between worlds. You have two options. You may have your character keep their canon abilities and have them relearn how to use them over time or you may choose new abilities from one of the listed Warcraft classes. Class placement is a strictly OOC decision -- your character will not get the choice of trading out his or her abilities for a set of new ones. Its all done via portal displacement when characters enter Azeroth.
   Q. My character fits under more than one class.
A. In the case where a character may fit two or more classes, it's up to the player to determine which one best suits them. We don't give out dual-classes and will never do so in the future.
   Q. So I don't have to use the class system?
A. Not if you don't want to! However, we do ask that you choose a class for your application that most closely represents your character, as the dragons will often call for certain class groups to help out on missions. If your character has powers on apocalyptic levels, please note that they may be nerfed slightly in order to keep gameplay fair. The mods are generally not a fan of power nerfs, so please ask if you need clarification on which abilities may be dampened.
   Q. My character has a deadly disease/just died/is coming in from a canon point with a serious wound. How do you handle that?
A. This is judged on a case by case basis! Most of the time, the dragons (the dragon mages, specifically) will absolve your character of their malady before they arrive officially. If you'd like for that not to happen, please note this on your application! If your character refuses initially, there may be opportunities for them to seek out aid after their arrival, though it may prove to be more difficult.
   Q. My character has a companion/pet/etc. Can they bring them along?
A. This will also be judged on a case by case basis. If the companion or pet can be applied for as a second character, then we will likely not allow them to be brought in alongside the applied character. On the other hand, Pokémon trainers will need to choose one Pokémon to bring with them. It really is a case by case situation for each character so please just ask instead of assume.
   Q. What if my character is a giant/transformer/other large creature?
A. The dragon sanctums are dragon sized (read: very large), so this would be permissible in most cases. Keep in mind that it would be much harder for them to hide in the forest if they need to go outside. Scaling down is available for convenience, so please note in the Species area of your application if you would like your character scaled down.
   Q. What about dragons?
A. Dragons from any and all canons are also permitted! Please note that dragons applying from Warcraft series will be judged very closely. Players may treat them as NPCs due to their canon origin, which is a big responsibility!
   Q. Great! My Warcraft character was already helping the red dragonflight and--
A. Slow down there, partner! While we do accept both canon Warcraft characters and player generated characters, NPCs will not recognize your character, canon or otherwise.
   Q. What? But why???
A. Because this Warcraft universe exists outside the timeline of canon events! Even if your character existed during the Dragon Soul's creation, these are not the Aspects they would have encountered. There are a few exceptions...
   Q. What are they?
A. Any of the Night Elf canon characters that existed during the time of the War of the Ancients will be recognized by the Aspects, though the character will not have knowledge any of the game specific events. Please note that if you choose to app one of these characters, there will most likely be an NPC of them walking around somewhere in the forests of Zin-Ashari.
   Q. Ok, but what about people who apply canon characters? Are they allowed to recognize my character/my oc?
A. We ask that you please discuss this with the player beforehand. Please do not assume that characters know one another ahead of time. Your character is free to recognize anyone, but please do not expect them to recognize you in return.
GAMEPLAY
   Q. How does my character know which flight they belong to?
A. Upon arrival, your Dragonsworn character will be deposited inside the sanctum they have been sworn into. Note that flight placement is done on an OOC level, based solely on your application -- this is not a character's choice! Information about each of these sanctums can be found on the appropriate dragonflight page (Black, Blue, Bronze, Green, & Red). If a character leaves the sanctum via one of the exit portals, they will have to find another in the world around them to return. Their locations are randomized and will rarely be in the same spot twice. Portal return locations may be handwaved at player discretion. If a character attempts to walk toward a portal that dos not belong to their flight, they will feel a sense of foreboding that will turn them away. The portal of their sworn flight will feel warm and inviting.
   Q. My character would ignore the feeling. What then?
A. They are free to walk into a sanctum that is not their own. Just don't expect the dragons to welcome you kindly. In fact, they will probably kill you if (when) they catch you. The only exception to this is the Red Dragonflight as they have left their sanctum open to all mortals.
   Q. What if I want to change flights?
A. That's not possible. Once a character has been sworn to a specific flight, they remain with them no matter what. Your character was sworn into their flight based on the whole of their being, not who they are at any given point in their life. There's good, neutral, and bad folks in each of the sworn flights.
   Q. But what if my character wants to betray their flight to help out another?
A. Such things are within the realm of possibility. This is a war game after all and betrayals as well as spies are to be expected.
   Q. How are characters able to communicate with each other? Can they communicate with the other races on Azeroth?
A. All characters will be gifted an entirely new language upon their arrival by their respective Dragon Mage. This language is referred to as 'Common' and will allow characters to be able to communicate among each other. Everyone retains the knowledge of their previous languages as well so if you wish to have a character address someone from their world in the same tongue where no one else can understand, you're free to do so.

Keep in mind that many of the creatures and races found on Azeroth don't speak the common language and therefore might not be too keen on chatting with someone who does. For more information on which of the races speak what languages, check out the Bestiary.

As a final note, Dragons are highly intelligent beings who are keen on learning other languages. It's very much possible to teach them how to speak a language from another world if they view your character worthy enough to teach them.
   Q. So...there's dragons everywhere?
A. Pretty much! Out in the world, they are a bit harder to find, but home in your sanctum they are plentiful. Dragons of different colors do not typically mingle with one another. Outside the sanctums, characters may encounter demons and Night Elves, neither of which are typically keen on interacting with Dragonsworn or their brethren. There are also rumors of other species further outside the forests. Please see the Settings page for more information on population. Additionally, you might want to check out the Bestiary for a list of monsters and other creatures you may encounter.
   Q. What about these classes? How will my character know what class they are?
A. Generally, upon arrival, they will not know right away. Abilities and reflexes are often accidentally triggered by strong focus, fear, or anger. However, since classes generally fit a character's archetype, there is a chance that whatever their class may be will simply come naturally, and be honed with practice. You might also consider asking one of your new dragon friends! All in all, its really up to the player as far as how fast a character will recognize their calling. Please keep in mind that all characters will lack finite control over their gifted and natural abilities upon arrival.
   Q. There seems to be a lot of NPC activity involved in this game...is that true?
A. It is indeed. Basic dragon encounters such as the one mentioned above may be hand-waved, but interaction with the Dragon Aspects are mod-controlled and plentiful. They exist as their own characters in this game. Sometimes they just might pay your character a visit in one of their open posts. If you would like to request an Aspect's presence in one of your threads, feel free to PM the respective NPC journal or one of the mod journals, and someone will get back to you in a timely fashion.
   Q. Can I kill the dragons?
A. You can certainly try! The dragons have a big advantage in size, but if enough characters rally together, they can be taken down the same as any other large animal. The Aspects, however...they are a different story. They are always watching you and are considered guardians of the world, so you may want to think twice before harming one of their children. Please inform a mod on the Plot Post if you kill a dragon.
   Q. How about riding dragons? Is that ok?
A. We don't suggest trying. ;) The short answer is no. The long answer is that dragons, while animal-like in appearance, are highly intelligent and tend to see themselves as greater than the "lesser races". A dragon must permit a character to ride them, and it will take a lot of trust between the person and the dragon in question. But who knows what can happen after you've spent some time on Azeroth?
   Q. What about property damage?
A. Also fine! The buildings that will be erected are for the character's benefit, after all...as far as the dragons are concerned, you are only hurting yourself. If you plan to do any major destruction of property, please let us know via the Plot Post. You may be asked to write an additional OOC entry detailing the damage to your fellow players in [community profile] barrenschat as well.
   Q. Ok, I'll get to the point. What can't I do?
A. There's not much, really! This game actively encourages conflict between all characters involved. We simply ask that before causing major sanctum or forest damage that you contact the mods on the Plot Post so that we may inform the rest of the game as to what is going on! Remember, the setting effects everyone in game, so try and make sure you're being respectful to your fellow players before you charge on in with the wrecking ball. As well, do not forget the chief rule that ICA = ICC, and that if you decide to stomp on someone's house, there is a very good chance that they will retaliate against you. Characters may not teleport home, though they are free to teleport into random areas on Azeroth if they know where they're going. See the Settings page for more info on that.
   Q. How do you handle death in this game?
A. Glad you asked! As this is a game centered around the strife of war, characters have resurrection available to them. However, the power of the realm is not unlimited! Continuous death will result in what is known by the flights as "Resurrection Sickness", which is a disease unique to Dragonsworn and occurs after they are subject to their SECOND resurrection.
   Q. Can you talk about Resurrection Sickness?
A. Resurrection Sickness will greatly weaken a character exposed to it. It will cut their physical and magical strength in half, and will generally effect a character as if they had the flu. Characters subject to Resurrection Sickness are, essentially, helpless for at least a week. The more deaths that occur, the longer Resurrection Sickness will last. Nothing can be done to speed up this process, and the severity of it is often random (but always increasing) after a character is exposed at least once. Characters exposed to multiple deaths may experience things like blindness, other loss of senses, or sensitivity to light, sound, and pain. It is generally a very unpleasant experience.
   Q. How do you handle canon updates in this game?
A. Players that want to canon update their characters can do so at the Canon Update Post. Here you are expected to summarize the events as well as any changes in personality and powers. Canon updates can take place in one of two manners. The first is through a glimpse of the future through the power of the Bronze Dragonflight. This option doesn't change your character physically whatsoever, but does bestow the knowledge of future events upon them. The second option is for the character to experience a temporal rift in which they will be ripped out from ancient Azeroth, returned briefly to live through these events, and then brought back. This can invoke a physical change in the character and they will regain any new injuries as well as powers.

If your character's powers deviate vastly from their original application to the point they would fall under an entirely different class, they will be allowed to switch. Remember, characters can only switch classes, they can't switch flights no matter what.
SCRYING
   Q. What exactly IS scrying?
A. Scrying is a form of magical communication that connects two attuned objects to one another and acts as a form of visual communication from point A to point B. In this case, a character may send and receive messages from any of the scrying orbs scattered around Kalimdor and the dragon sanctums. Think of peering into a crystal ball, except you're seeing current time rather than the future!
   Q. How does it work?
A. A character may approach an orb outside of the sanctum at any time. Once a character approaches the orb and thinks of the location they wish to contact, they will connect to the orb nearest their correspondent. This means you need to have some idea of location, if you don't have a person in mind. Trying to scry for a person will activate the scrying orb nearest the person, but it will not signify in any way who the message is for. Anyone can stand in front of the orb and communicate, even if you aren't trying to contact them, so be careful!

In addition, these orbs can only be used by Dragonsworn, the Dragon Mages who birthed them, and the Dragon Aspects should they wish.
   Q. So I can't use them whenever I want?
A. You cannot. You guys aren't friends, you're at war!
   Q. What if my character wants to contact someone in another sanctum?
A. This is entirely possible. However, the master orbs in the sanctums CANNOT contact one another. That is to say if you are in the Obsidian Sanctum and trying to contact someone currently in the Ruby Sanctum, or just trying to see INSIDE the Ruby Sanctum, you will be blasted back by a strong repelling spell. The only way to look into another sanctum is from one of the orbs outside.

But you wouldn't want your enemies picking up on that little secret, would you? ;)
   Q. How do my characters know what to do with the orbs?
A. Each flight has a representative skilled in magecraft known only as a Dragon Mage. They may seem familiar to your character! They will instruct characters on how to communicate with their respective brethren using the orbs shortly after arrival in their sanctum.
   Q. Can you tell me a little more about the Dragon Mages and what their purpose in the game is?
A. You can read more about these helpful individuals here. The Dragon Mages are impressively neutral. They are putting their hope in the Dragonsworn as a whole expecting that they will deliver them from their seemingly hopeless conflict. This is not common knowledge inside of their respective flights. As far as the flights know, their mages' only allegiance is to their flight.
   Q. Can my characters contact any of the dragons with these orbs?
A. Only the Dragon Mages and Dragon Aspects are permitted to use the scrying orbs to contact each other in that fashion. These orbs are a tool for the Dragonsworn primarily and improper use of them will result in unhappy dragons.
   Q. What about the other towns?
A. Other races may have their own forms of communication. For example, the Night Elves have their own scrying network via their own magic that doesn't align with the power the Dragon Mages are using. Therefore they are incompatible for now.
   Q. Is this the only form of communication available and why are there restrictions?
A. Not at all! This is "network" based communication, but nothing is stopping characters from writing letters or anything like that! Please keep in mind that this game is based around war and that communication with people not of your flight is meant to be difficult. Changes to that is left in the hands of the characters.

So why the restrictions? Warforged, in addition to being a wartime game, is a game set in a fantasy realm where minimal technology is available at any given time. There is virtually nothing to keep characters from meeting face to face in the great outdoors, take advantage of that!
ANYTHING ELSE?
   Q. What if there's a question I have that you haven't answered here?
A. Feel free to leave it on this post or to PM [personal profile] modforged! If you have canon specific questions, please try to be as detailed as possible when asking so that we can provide you with an accurate answer as quickly as possible.

1) For characters from scifi/non-fantasy settings, do they get to bring in weapons and/or armor from their universe, or are these automatically transformed on arrival to something more appropriate to Azeroth? For example, would a Terran Marine from Starcraft end up with the equivalent of warrior plate armor (complete with conveniently giant shoulders), or stay in power armor without a power source/replacement power source provided by their flight?

2) For characters that choose a Warcraft class over their canon abilities, are there any NPCs around who can help them adapt to their new powers/skills or is that going to be a mix of trial and error?

3) Related to the above, if you forsake canon abilities in favour of WOW class ones, do you get one of the snazzy tier sets on arrival? :D what do you mean transmog hasn't been patched in yet

4) Are clams stackable?

What are the limits on what a Warcraft OC can "bring into" the game (or really, have access to in some way or another)? Items in their absurdly extensive inventory? Bank contents, void storage contents? Mount summons? Transmog gear? Companion pets? Relatedly, do any of these Warcraft conceits, or various others like transmogrifiers, mailboxes, flight masters, etc. exist in the setting?

Re: Q. My character has a companion/pet/etc. Can they bring them along?

How possible would Hiccup and Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon be?

*face in hands* Also, Chromie is so tempting.

I've deliberated with the other mods and we've decided that Hiccup may be apped with Toothless so long as he is apped as a hunter and Toothless becomes his animal companion.

If you wish to app Hiccup as another class, Toothless will not join him.

Chromie is perfectly appable as well.

Just out of curiosity, if you go with canon powers, are your characters abilities limited or altered in any way to more suit their given class?

Like this guy would fall under every class because he's a jack of all trades, but if he was in the game as a magic user of some kind, would his physical ability be reduced while maintaining his magical capabilities that suit his class? Or would he eventually regain all of his canon strengths?

Question about the characters that can be apped!

What's the consensus on canon characters with bare-bones personality/history that would need some headcanon extrapolation by a player? I know some games consider those "fandom OCs" and I see you don't allow them at this time.

Two questions!

1. If someone's life force is tied to otherworldly beings, for the sake of the game would they just become....alive in their own right? (Thinking primarily of Sylvanas and her pact with the Val'kyr, considering I want to take her post-trip to the seat of the Lich King.)

2. For mages/druids from WoW-verse who have portal skills, how would those work? For example, my friend who's considering applying has a mage who has a teleport to Orgrimmar skill. Would that simply switch to "teleport to home dragonflight?" Or would they just teleport to where Orgrimmar should be and be like "wow this is a totally barren place what is this....."

Just wondering for future reference, since I don't want to assume! Kougyoku's weapon can essentially give people she has strong CR with water-based powers. This only happens when the character is in a time of great need. What kind of power they get depends on what they wished for at the time. For example, Morgiana, a character in her canon, wished she could fly to rescue her friends from a pit, so she gained the ability to extend and retract her chains. Another example is Ka Koubun, who can only use water-based healing magic since he (presumably) wished for Kougyoku to live.

So my question is, will Kougyoku's weapon retain the ability to give other characters powers or, like canon powers, will this be nerfed/altered due to the transfer between worlds?

ALSO! This is an important question with spoilers, so I'll put it here: Kougyoku is currently under a spell which enables a certain canon character to take over her body, see what she sees and speak through her. Will the dragon mages break this spell upon her arrival? If not, will they be able to detect it, or can she seek help from them with it later on? I don't mind either way, but I'd like to know my options! She is not aware of the spell as of the canon point I am taking her from.

Thank you for your time!

I have a couple of questions myself.

First, I am thinking of apping this OC with a friend. I'd like for the character to take a Warcraft class, however they're skilled at using a sword. Would she be allowed to keep and use her weapon even as a priest?

Second, when apping a character taking a Warcraft class to replace canon powers is it necessary to list their canon powers?

Finally, this character's soul is held in an item as they are not human. If I removed their canon powers, would this still be the case?

Hello! Hopefully one of your mods is familiar with current Doctor Who canon, because I have a character-specific question. Would taking the Doctor from just prior to his regeneration in Time of the Doctor work? (i.e., after he's been given a new set of regenerations or whatever by the Time Lords and regressed to his normal appearance), or should I choose a canon point when he's not actually in the process of regenerating?

Okay, several questions, starting with the app-related ones!

Just to be clear, in the abilities/class section we SHOULD list what class the character would be classified for in-game stuff even if they're keeping canon powers, correct? As in, "character X is keeping his canon powers (which are blah blah blah...) and therefore he would be considered class Y" sort of thing.

For the first person sample, what's considered acceptable? You mention the possibility of linking something, do you mean linking a sample thread? And if so, what sort of things qualify? (e.g. would threads/posts of the character from the same canon point but in a different game setting be fine, or do you want something more setting-specific?)

For the third person sample, if a prompt is chosen that might involve interaction with another character/NPC (such as prompts C, D, possibly A...) is it fine to write said character into it as needed? Obviously the focus is on the character being apped, but dancing around the issue of trying to avoid having anything dialogue-wise or such from the other party in such a scenario can be tedious.

...anyway, on to game-related questions!

In the setting page, mention is made of different areas' attitudes towards the Dragonsworn. Obviously, when decked out in their livery/regalia/uniform/whatever, it's clear who belongs to who, but if a character wanted to suit up in some plain old generic clothes and pretend to be just another guy on the street, is that possible? Or do people have a means of detecting the Dragonsworn despite that?

The premise and other various infoposts make references to things like "once you've been sworn in..." and so on; is this an actual event that occurs to characters upon arrival, or just a fancy way of saying "upon being conscripted whether you like it or not"?

Here's a weird technical question: I'm unfamiliar with Warcraft game mechanics, but in most fantasy videogames, different kinds of magic elements/spells are more or less effective against (or can be combined with) the various other elements/spells. For example, water beats fire, or fire and lightning can be combined for a combo spell, or so on like that. Given the variety of canons characters may be pulled from and that each setting treats these things a little differently (Suikoden for example has five elements that go in a rock-paper-scissors style circle of effectiveness) is there/will there be any guide to how the setting-native things work? Or is that a moot point/will it be generally assumed that anything too different is flat out incompatible?

...obviously I think too much. >_>

Would a Pokemon character be allowed to bring in a Legendary Pokemon, or would you prefer it to be kept to normal Pokemon?

Also, would it be allowed to app as one of the game protagonists?

I meant to ask this earlier, but when characters arrive, what equipment/items that were on their person do they retain from their home worlds? Examples of this would be like their clothing, jewelry, enchanted items, and money.

...and now I am imagining someone trying to pay a night elf with dollar bills.

On the subject of "companion" characters, there's one particular canon I'm looking at. It's the series Dokidoki Precure, in which the magical girls of the series have fairy partners. The fairies have personalities, can talk, take human form, etc., but they spend most of their time as sidekicks and can't really fight. What's more, they personally turn into the item the girls need to transform, which means without their fairies, the girls can't become magical girls at all.

Alright I've got a couple of questions, though a couple of them are a bit more canon-specific.

First, is a character's canon point coming from post death alright? Specifically, I'm considering a post Order 66 point for this character.

Second, regarding lightsabers: Are they allowable, given how much damage they're capable of doing?

Third, if I elected to have the character keep their canon powers (IE: ability to manipulate the Force), how would that be handled within the class system? Many of the basic aspects of the Force feel somewhat outside the spectrum covered by Warcraft classes. Does the Force even exist in Azeroth?

hello yes dumb question alert (of sorts this is what happens when I ask stuff at nearly 3 in the morning)...

Sooooo for Bruce due to his Very Unique Circumstances (aka turning into a Hulk) I just want to ask what you guys think about how this should be determined. I do want to retain his abilities in becoming a Hulk, but at the same time the skills of the Hulk lie more towards that of a Warrior rather than one of a Druid (...in fact, its pretty far from a Druid, haha).

In this case, I'd just like to ask what the thoughts of the modteam are. My own concept is for Bruce to sort of 're-learn' control and stamina of being a Hulk, but I'm well aware that kind of falls more to that of what being a Druid would entail. So I would love to hear what the mods think about this, and perhaps how this all could be worked into one of the classes? Especially considering the powers of the Hulk I think being a Druid would be pretty overpowered/messy-ish. Or something like that. My WoW memories are admittedly rusty.

If we wish to change a character's species to better fit their new world/environment, do we have to match their ages? For example if I wanted to app a 40 year old being as a night elf, would they still be the equivalent of a middle aged elf, or would they match their genuine age of 40, and thus for an elf, very young?

sorry, this question has kind of already been answered but i would just like a clarification? Tristepin would absolutely be a Paladin, it's essentially what he is in canon, but the sword that he carries is actually a demon sword. i see that people can bring their canon weapons into this game, but his sword is literally a vessel for a demon spirit, and he is its guardian. to make things more complicated, he has the ability to merge with said demon and become a big ogre creature, sort of hulkish but he maintains control over himself.

so i guess my question is, can he keep his demon sword with Rubilax, his demon partner, intact? i was under the impression that he couldn't, but i can't find a clear answer one way or the other. if not, would the sword just not come with him at all? or would it be empty? i'm perfectly willing to give up the merging ability, as i know that is very non-Paladin ish... but man he'll be really sad if Rubilax isn't with him anymore, and frankly he'll probably have a panic attack if the sword is just empty because he'll think Rubilax escaped and is wreaking havoc somewhere and That Isn't Good.

please advise? thanks!

Hello, lovely modpeople. :> I have a couple of quick questions that I hope you can clear up!

1. Suppose I'm apping a character from an Expanded Universe series, and the authors often talk with fans about details that aren't explicitly spelled out in canon. If I provide the exact conversations between creator and fan, would you accept these as canon? Or is that too flimsy to use?

2. Asking for a friend: is there a ballpark figure for how long it takes an app to go through the approval process?

Just a few quick questions (that I probably should have asked way earlier), since I'm still screengrabbing and iconning for Shirley here:

1. "Every death knight carries what is known as a vampiric runeblade, which houses the knight's soul and must be fed with blood in order to keep the pain of the curse of undeath at bay." Do new Death Knights who do not have a canon weapon immediately arrive with a runeblade on their person, or is there some sort of odd workaround for them?

2. Is the strength to wield a weapon or appropriately-sized armor automatically received upon entry, a "class-based power" you unlock (triggered by strong focus, fear, or anger), or just something a character will have to practice to build up to?

(EDIT) 3. ACTUALLY I might as well ask here too - do undead need to eat/drink/breathe? This seems like the sort of thing I should remember from WoW, but the whole "humanoid for balance" thing is throwing me off pretty hard.

Would it be possible to app two characters as one, based on the fact that they generally work very closely together and their powers involve merging together?

I'm in the process of creating an OC to bring in, but in order to figure out if she's even plausible with the cosmic makeup of Azeroth, could you please give a brief outline of the various planes of existence Ancient Azeroth has?

On behalf of a friend of mine that's been eying the game, what is the game's policy on things like AIs?(They don't typically have bodies as such. They're usually located on some form of chip or the like, running ships. But they are intelligent characters in their own right. As an example: http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Roland_(AI) )
